I decided to add a caribou to the left side of this page. I think it rounds out the composition; but now I wish I'd done a better job with the otters.

I happen to really like the otters. I think you captured their expression very well.
But do you like the caribou? Is it a better composition now or without him? Just curious.
Hmm, that's a tough one. While I think the caribou is amazing, I do believe I liked the overall composition better without him. I think perhaps you could balance out the pages and composition by adding a little color or more text around the caribou to tie him to the rest of the page. Or maybe a background with very little detail. Then both pages would be a mix of detail and expression.
